Many businesses online become mired in the technicalities of website ownership. How many pages should you have? How often should you update a company blog?

There are hundreds of issues to consider, particularly when you factor in the search engine optimization (SEO) for every page and post on your site.

Running a website can be a full-time job in itself!

Many site owners are rediscovering the very real benefits of having a simple “conversion funnel,” which may also be called a “landing page.” There are a number of benefits to condensing your information into a single, easy-to-read page.

We like to call the ones we build Brandsites… They are like a marriage between a funnel and a website.

With a funnel format, you only have a single page to maintain. You can present your product and your brand’s story in a clear and concise manner. There’s minimal clicking and no series of pages to thwart your visitor’s interest.

A traditional website is better suited to a newspaper, magazine, or entity that frequently posts new content. A website can have hundreds or even thousands of pages and visitors can virtually “wander off” from the site’s primary purpose, which is to sell.

Visitors can also become lost with the multiple clicks necessary to present information in website format. Your goal is to narrow down your visitor’s path into an obvious action. That’s difficult to do with a traditional website, but easy to do with a sales funnel.

A funnel format also allows you to perform split testing, or A/B testing, whenever applicable. It’s easy to tweak and adjust your settings until you have the perfect algorithm for your purpose. This becomes nearly impossible with a traditional website.

The funnel format also allows you to present a number of call-to-action (CTA) options, seamlessly. Many funnel pages typically have 6-10 CTAs. This is much different from a website that may have virtually no CTAs, or may find the CTAs are lost in the other functions within the site (subscribe to a newsletter, share, etc.).

Landing pages are better suited to mobile device traffic, which is an estimated 60% of internet traffic. The single-page format makes it much simpler to track conversions. It’s much easier to make free offers, your lead magnet, on a sales funnel. Most websites only offer the option to “Contact Us.”

For most sales or service offerings, a sales funnel offers a superior return for the time and money invested. The simple format is easier to maintain and requires less work over time. There are obvious calls-to-action, and complete focus on your product and your offerings.
